Venice Beach

This past Sunday the temperature was over 30 degrees so we did like everyone else and went to the beach. Normally Jesse and I go to the less populated beaches of Malibu which are a little north of LA. However since Scott was visiting we thought we would go somewhere that was a little more exciting. I think that Venice beach is as about exciting as you can get with the variety to characters that seem to come out of the woodwork. We arrived early, much to Jesse's dismay, however once he realized how packed it eventually got and the awesome parking spot I was able to procure practically on the beach, he began singing a different tune. We took the time when the crowds were minimal to walk along the board walk and see all of the random people.

One thing that's really awesome about Venice is the graffiti. It really is artwork.

Best known for being frequented by Arnold Swartzenegger back in the day, Muscle beach houses an outdoor weight lifting area which is mainly used by older men.

The waves were big and even Jesse went in the water, although it did take a bit of encouraging.

As the day progressed more and more people came and the beach began to fill up. Eventually the boardwalk became completely packed with people which Jesse did not enjoy.

In one area of the beach there are some cement walls that seem to continually be covered and recovered with graffiti. Even the palm trees and garbage cans are used as canvases.
